Power Source

The 41mm Tudor Style uses a self winding automatic movement as its power source. As the best of luxury watches offer, Tudor would never give anything less than the best of Swiss materials in this timepiece. With a power reserve of 38 hours when unworn (which is respectable), this 2824 Tudor calibre is extremely precise and simple.

The movement powers a traditional three-hand dial (h, m, s) as well as a small date window at the traditional 3 o’clock position.

Movement Specs:

  • Self-Winding Automatic Movement
  • Tudor Calibre: 2824
  • 38 Hour Power Reserve
  • 28,800 v.p.h.

The Good

Despite the traditional dial display, this watch is anything but typical — the polished 18kt Yellow Gold of the beautiful fluted bezel is an outstanding complement to the Champagne analog dial that will astound the senses. With matching Yellow Gold dial hands and applied hour indexes, this Tudor has an all-Yellow Gold appearance with the exception of a small black-upon-white calendar date window at 3 o’clock. Unobtrusive and precise timekeeping is in this classic and elegant design.

At 41mm in diameter, this Tudor Style (model 12713) is the largest in the Style Collection. This bold watch is not too large as to be gaudy but it is not too small for men wanting a larger piece of luxury on their wrists.

The solid steel backing, the screw-down winding crown, and the tight fit of the scratch resistant Sapphire crystal gives this Tudor an amazing water resistance of 100 meters / 330 feet. You certainly do not have to worry about destroying this beauty in or near water (just avoid diving and deep sea diving and you will be fine). This is an excellent, added layer of protection for a luxury watch.

This rotor self-winding timepiece has a Tudor calibre 2824 automatic movement, which is of excellent Swiss quality and is extremely precise.

The Bad

There are no negative qualities to this timepiece — this luxury Tudor Style 41mm Steel and 18kt Yellow Gold is available at an incredible price, quality design and materials, and is simply perfect.

The functionality of the Tudor Style can be summed up in one word: perfect. There are no additional complications to worry about powering on this three-hand plus date display timepiece. The self-winding automatic movement is a beauty and has an in-house Tudor calibre that will power this watch at 28,800 v.p.h. for clean and precise timekeeping.

The functionality is further impressive due to the respectable 38 hour power reserve when not worn. The hour indexes are easily read on the beautiful Champagne dial and there are no distractions on the watch that do not serve a purpose.

So, how does the construction hold up? Again — perfectly. The 18kt Yellow Gold of the polished, fluted bezel is aesthetically outstanding and perfectly rooted in the classic and luxury history of the Swiss brand. The scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal offers superior protection against scratches and bumps and has the added benefit of offering a crystal clear view onto the dial.

The screw-down crown, tight fit of the Sapphire, and the solid steel back of the case also offer the benefit of being able to provide a 100 meter / 330 feet water resistance, which is suitable for anything but diving and deep sea diving.

Finally, the five-link bracelet has a deployment clasp that will keep this luxury Tudor on your wrist on land, in water, and on-the-go. As far as functionality goes, this timepiece receives the best rating.

This entire Tudor Style 12713 deserves a spotlight of its own. While it is difficult to delineate specific aspects that deserve more attention, we’ll give it a go. First, the five-link bracelet is something really special on this watch and it is stands out in the best way.

The five-link bracelet offers alternating steel finishes of satin and brushed, as well as alternating shades of steel and two think stripes of 18kt Yellow Gold outlining the middle links to give it that extra flair and matching design.

The 18kt Yellow Gold fluted bezel immediately drew me to this timepiece in the first place, and when combined with the high-quality lacquered Champagne dial, was the deciding factor into my decision to write a review of this piece. The design of the gold accents is something Tudor did extraordinarily well in this model. The dial hands and the applied indexes at the hour are of matching Yellow Gold to the beautifully polished fluted bezel, and the lacquered Champagne dial nearly matches that gold tone while having a personality of its own.

Sitting on one’s wrist, you know that with such high quality materials, components, and precision, that this Tudor must cost at least 5 figures — but you’d be wrong — the Tudor Style 12713 Steel and Gold men’s watch will cost you no more than around $4,000.00. This best part was saved for last.

This stunning Tudor Style timepiece did retail for $4,050.00 — however, this pricing has changed and even on Tudor’s main website, they are offering this new Tudor Style 41mm for only $3,350.00.

This is one hell of a deal that is beating out other genuine and well-respected watch dealers’ prices. We definitely recommend you purchase this Tudor Style 12713 directly from the Swiss watchmaker’s website.
